My interest in creating music was sparked in 1999 as a high school sophomore when a friend of mine asked me to rap on one of his songs. At the time I didn't know how to rap nor did I have any intentions on ever rapping. Anyways, I wrote a verse and gave it my best shot during the recording session in which I sounded quite horrid. Although my performance was atrocious, I developed a great curiosity in the art form. It was then that I decided to practice and partake in further sessions. After countless sessions in the studio my skills had risen immensely. My love for rapping had also risen; so much that I joined a group and recorded a couple of underground albums over the course of my junior and senior years in high school. At the time I was also a highly touted track and field athlete and received a scholarship to attend the University of Mississippi. At that point my interest in rapping had waned and it wasn’t until my sophomore year in college that I’d decided to pick it back up. I ended up joining another group and recorded about 4 underground albums throughout my years in college. In addition to rapping I had also developed an interest in producing which I found out I liked more than rapping. I liked it so much that I gave up rapping to focus solely on producing. As much of my focus now goes towards competing as a professional track athlete, I make beats and produce songs mostly as a pastime. I enjoy working with local artists in the North Mississippi area though and have produced a few local hits such as “Fine Girls-Ole Miss” and “Take Me to Da Game” by Krazy J. I also work with various major artists (Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, T.I., etc.) via my Hixx Blends series of mixtapes.
